Instructions

Step 1:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain the pasta.
Step 2:
While the pasta cooks, heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and sauté for 3 4 minutes until soft. Stir in the garlic, oregano, and red pepper flakes cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Step 3:
Add the crushed tomatoes, season with salt and pepper, and simmer for 8 10 minutes to thicken slightly. Lower the heat, stir in the heavy cream, and simmer for another 2 3 minutes. Mix in the Parmesan and chopped basil. Adjust seasoning as needed.
Step 4:
For the garlic bread crumbs Melt butter with 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add bread crumbs and garlic, tossing constantly for 3 5 minutes until golden and crisp. Stir in parsley and a pinch of salt. Remove from heat.
Step 5:
Toss the drained pasta into the tomato cream sauce, adding a splash of reserved pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce. Mix well to coat.
Step 6:
Divide the creamy tomato pasta among plates. Sprinkle generously with garlic bread crumbs and garnish with extra basil.
